In a meeting with MPs and officials of the Supreme Council of Free Zones, Hojjatullah Abdul Maliki mentioned free zones as the engine for the development of the country's economy and said: The Secretariat of the Supreme Council of Free Zones and special economic zones are considered important economic sectors of the country and the government. The president is also very sensitive to these sectors.
He added: Free zones have been considered with special conditions and characteristics, and these characteristics have made these zones the engine of the country's economy.
Abdul Maliki highlighted the shortcomings and shortcomings of some free zones in the country and said: In general, there are complaints about the operation of free zones, like the problems we face in many economic systems in the country, but in contrast to these issues, It's capabilities are worth considering.
He highlighted the general policies of the resistance economy in the free and special economic zones and said: the transfer of advanced technologies, the expansion and facilitation of production, the export of goods and services, the provision of basic needs and financial resources from abroad and, above all, the good well-being of the inhabitants of these areas, including General economic policies of resistance in these areas were emphasized.
The Secretary of the Supreme Council of Free Trade-Industrial and Special Economic Zones added: Regarding the establishment of new free zones, the chapter is the law and according to the approval of the legislator, it will certainly be accelerated.
In the end, Abdul Maleki thanked the actions taken by previous governments and the efforts of Saeed Mohammad and Nasraleh Ebrahimi and said: We will not change the approach; Rather, we try to increase the speed of achieving goals through cooperation.
Free zones are made up of experts and technical experts
Nasraleh Ebrahimi, the former head of the secretariat of the Supreme Council of Free Trade-Industrial and Special Economic Zones, also said at the meeting: Free zones are composed of a body of experts and technical experts in economic development , management, parliamentary and parliamentary affairs and areas of cultural, social and tourist services.
He added: Currently, there are 8 active free zones, 7 new free zones and 79 special economic zones in the country, of which 35 are active and the others are in the start-up phase.
Ebrahimi continued: Special economic zones have two distinctions compared to free zones, one is that they are managed by the responsible body in a public and private manner, and the other is tax and customs exemption. Economically, depending on their activity, this exemption varies. between 7 and 12 years old.
During this meeting, each of the deputies and officials of the Secretariat of the Supreme Council presented a report on the actions and performance of their area of ​​activity.
