Between the two, Armenia had a special place; A position that apparently had no significant effect on the volume of trade between the two countries.
Because exactly after the tightening of the sanctions, the volume of trade between the two countries decreased.
After the commercial explosion between the two countries in 1998, Iran's imports from Armenia did not increase any more, and this graph also did not increase in the new century.
But the volume of exports rose for a short period in 2019 and then fell again.
The process is still ongoing.
Of course, the 8-month customs statistics show that these exchanges have increased in value, but they have decreased in weight, a drop that is also found in the 7-month statistics.
During the 8-month period of this year, the volume of exports from Iran to Armenia was recorded at 263 million 59 thousand dollars, or 612 thousand 782 tons.
Last year, Iran's export amount was 783,315 tons, and according to this, its export value was announced at $210,937,000.
On the other hand, Iran imported 4,823 tons of goods worth $15,873,000 from Armenia. In the current 8 months, Iran has imported 4,823 tons of goods from this country.
However, the value of goods imported from this country to Iran this year is about 8 million and 993 thousand dollars.
This incident shows a noticeable change in the basket of items imported by Iran this year compared to last year.
Despite these conditions, according to the latest decision of policy makers in the trade sector, the trade volume between Tehran and Yerevan will reach 3 billion dollars.
Of course, this figure is also approved by the Armenian side.
But so far, there is no sign of the development of these exchanges.
