Satellite Internet is enabled.
Minister of Communications and Information Technology: While welcoming the activation of satellite internet in the country, the Minister of Communications and Information Technology said: Acceptance of satellite internet is conditional on compliance with the territorial rules of the Islamic Republic from Iran.

Regarding the activation of almost a thousand satellite internet in the country, the Minister of Communications and Information Technology, Isai Zarepour, while confirming the news of the activation of this internet, said: Satellite internet has been activated, but how many have been activated? I'm not. The owner of this company that provides this service can provide the correct statistics.
According to Mehr's report, regarding the risk of operator bankruptcy in connection with the activation of satellite internet, he stated: the number of satellite internet subscribers and users worldwide does not is not even one percent of the total number of Internet users, and this Internet is for special and special conditions.
The Minister of Communications and Information Technology added: Of course, it has been said before that we have prepared, approved and communicated our land regulations or "landing rights" to satellite system operators, so that s 'they want to have legal activities in Iran, they are required to They respect the territorial rules of the Islamic Republic of Iran.
Emphasizing that the activation of satellite internet is welcome, Zarepour said: We welcome internet via satellite provided they comply with our territorial rules.
Compliance with the territorial rules of countries is an international rule of the international organization ITU.
Not so long ago, the Minister of Communications said that three thousand villages are still not connected to the Internet, which can be connected to the Internet via satellite Internet, and said: We welcome the activation of operators that provide Internet in the form of satellite. Yes, provided they accept our territorial rules (straight landing).
The Public Relations and Information Center of the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology announced, Minister of Communications and Information Technology Isa Zarepour said: We welcome the activation of operators who provide Internet in the form of satellite, provided that the territorial rules (right of landing) to accept us.
Currently, there are operators that provide satellite internet services to enable internet in the village.
He pointed out that three thousand villages are still not connected to the Internet, which can be connected to the Internet with this measure.
The Minister of Communications and Information Technology said: Recently, the operators' international traffic consumption has been declining, but due to the increasing use of domestic platforms by users, the total domestic and international traffic of the country has increased compared to before the restrictions.
Operators' source of revenue is not only international traffic, but they also derive revenue from voice calls and domestic traffic.
Some time ago some announced that the Iranian Space Agency should build something similar to Starlink for Iran.
Building such a system is long, expensive and difficult.
According to the IRNA report, Hassan Salarieh, the head of the Iranian Space Organization, explained if we could have something like Starlink.
Salarieh said: The Iranian Space Organization has a written program regarding the construction of satellite systems.
The plan is to support the formation of knowledge-based companies active in this field so that over time they become a consortium and manufacture small telecommunications satellites (up to 300 kg).
The Deputy Minister of Communications pointed out: In the first stage, we plan to design and build a telecommunications system consisting of microsatellites.
This system is used for narrowband and the Internet of Things.
Microsatellite systems are small and weigh less than 50 kg, and the private sector can easily build them.
In this regard, many feasibility studies have been carried out and we hope that knowledge companies will continue to work seriously in this sector.
The head of the Space Organization said: The microsatellite system is a program that we place in our short-term horizon.
By the end of 1401, the space organization will announce the registration of knowledge-based companies to participate in the bidding and the platform to be built for it.
After the participation of the companies in the call for tenders and the investigations which are made, we conclude a contract with them.
He added: In this stage, we identify the companies and empower them so that they can proceed to the main stage, which is the construction satellites to provide broadband services.
This leads to the provision of internet, which the Starlink satellite system is capable of.
Salarieh clarified: The construction of a satellite system in our country will not proceed individually.
To achieve this goal, several hundred and several thousand satellites must be launched into the desired orbit in a short period of time for different altitudes.
He pointed out: If the question is asked now, in the near future (2 years) and only using the capacity of the private sector, a satellite system can be built, my answer is negative.
An international consortium should be formed for these purposes.
Our roadmap is that Iran, along with several other interested countries with whom we have consulted, will join in the construction of a satellite system.
The head of the country's space organization announced: With the formation of this consortium, we will jointly design a platform and turn it into a system.
The formation of this system may be a competitor to the Starlink system.
Salarieh said of the timeframe for acquiring a satellite system to compete with Starlink: This work cannot be done in 2-3 years, but the higher the participation, the more certainly we can achieve this goal in a longer time frame. short. .
