Planning to increase 7,000 megawatts of power generation through summer 2023.
The electricity industry spokesperson announced; Mustafa Rajabi Mashhadi said: Planning to increase the power generation capacity of new power plants by more than 7 megawatts and upgrade existing power plants by summer 2023 is underway.

He said: "During the second year of the 13th People's Government, the Ministry of Energy prepared a program consisting of 140 measures, which includes three sectors of electricity generation and supply, consumption and of demand management, and the programs necessary to remove limitations from the country's transmission and super distribution network in the summer of 1402."
The speaker continued: These 140 programs in the area of generation lead to an increase in the generation capacity of new plants by 6,000 megawatts, as well as an increase in the capacity of existing plants and the repair of damaged plants of a total of 1,700 megawatts, and on this basis, 7,700 megawatts The electricity production capacity of existing power plants will be increased so that we can spend the summer more reliably in terms of production capacity.
The start of the implementation of 63 major projects in the field of electricity transmission networks
The power industry spokesperson continued on the forecasted applications in the transmission grid sector: In the transmission grid sector, due to the restrictions that existed in the supply of electricity in 1401 , 47 programs of which 63 projects have been planned, which include transmission lines as well as the construction of transmission and super distribution substations, it is in progress.
The CEO of Iran Electricity Network Management Company noted the steps taken to build dedicated power plants: based on the planning made in the development of industrial electricity, 1478 megawatts of industrial thermal power plants will be in the production circuit until at peak electricity consumption of 1402 megawatts.
This production volume includes five factories.
He said: Semnan Power Station will soon put its fourth unit into production, Mobarake Steel has two Class F power stations with a total capacity of 614 megawatts, as well as the first units of Golghar Power Stations, Lamard and Al-Mahdi for Golghar steel, Salco aluminum and Al-Mahdi aluminum companies is built.
According to Rajabi Mashhadi, with the capacities allocated by the power plant units of the mentioned industries, in the summer of 1402, the implementation of the "consumption management" programs of the industry sector will decrease compared to the year former.
The power industry spokesperson noted: We hope that with the planning done, we will supply more power to the country's demanding sectors, especially industry, and have no restrictions or blackouts. in the domestic, commercial and service sectors.
