The first geothermal power plant will be commissioned this summer.
The Deputy Minister of Energy said: There are 35,600 megawatts of combined cycle power plant capacity, including 1,200 megawatts of boiler power plants that generate electricity without fuel consumption. Thus, more than 18 billion cubic meters of gasoline or diesel fuel are saved each year.

Referring to the history of power plant industry in Iran, Homayoun Haeri said: The country's power plant industry has its roots in Iran over the years.
During the revolution, the capacity of the country's power plant was 7,000 megawatts, it is currently over 91,000 megawatts, more than half of which was built inside the country by the expert hands of Iranian experts. .
He continued: There are gas units in the country that we are planning to convert to combined cycle.
The gas units are complementary to the renewable units which will have a larger share of the country's energy in the future, which is currently close to a thousand megawatts.
The Deputy Minister of Energy said: More than 70% of the combined cycle generators are manufactured by Mapna and they have very high efficiency.
There are 35,600 megawatts of combined cycle power plant capacity, of which we have 1,200 megawatts of thermal power plants that produce electricity without fuel consumption, so more than 18 billion cubic meters of gas or diesel fuel are saved each year.
Underlining that Iran's first geothermal power plant will enter the power generation circuit this summer, he said: the capacity to build a power plant inside the country has reached 95% and Iran is one of the four largest power plant manufacturers in the world.
Referring to the unique potential of our country in the field of repair and operation of plant units, Haeri said: efforts in this sector have made it possible to complete repairs of plant units before the start of in the summer, evidence of the full preparation of the country's power plants to produce stable electricity on peak days. Let's consume the hot seasons this year.
He underscored the need to strengthen industry-university relations in the field of power industry and said: Given the existence of abundant energy resources in the country and the ability to build power plants electricity, the strengthening of these relations will certainly lead to the creation of new technologies.
