Our main advantage is oil and that is what we should focus on.
In other words, if we intend to work on the development of knowledge, the first point is oil.
He added: At some point in the last 50 years, every country that had resources had a privileged position, but today natural resources are not an advantage because the technology is not comparable to create value added in commodity trading.
The Vice President of Science pointed out: If commodity trading is 70% profitable, the influence of technology is 1000 times profitable, so if we do not improve technology in the oil industry, this industry will not serve to nothing.
He said that oil is an opportunity, but also a threat, and noted: In the seventh development plan, 35 billion dollars should be invested in the petrochemical industry, or 15 billion tomans in Persian Gulf Holding.
Dehghani added: In the last 3 years, oil has taken the first place in the use of domestic energy, the figure of which was 120 million dollars, which means that for a dollar of investment, 8 dollars of profit were obtained.
He said: Currently, there are 1,000 technology companies in the country, and by forming a consortium and bringing them together, we can create a technology giant in the oil industry. This means that we can create 5 super companies in the field of technology and equipment supply.
