What is Calcium Carbonate Paper or Rock Paper?
Rock paper is a type of paper whose main base is calcium carbonate powder with the formula CaCO3 instead of wood.
Ingredient:
• Calcium carbonate powder: 75% to 85%
• Polymeric materials including: PP and PE 15% to 20%
• Other materials: 5%
Production conditions:
Unlike ordinary wood-based papers, water is not used in its production.
• It needs one megawatt of electricity to produce 10,000 tons per year.
Required land area: 10,000 square meters
Required hall area: 5000 square meters

• Considering that the production of this product prevents the cutting of forest trees and does not have any kind of environmental pollution, the Environment Organization is one of the sponsors of the production of this paper.
This product was first invented in Canada and is mostly produced in China.
• Has not entered the Iranian market seriously.
• Printing houses are very satisfied with working with it because in addition to significant savings in printing ink consumption, it more than doubles the depreciation time of printing machines due to its softness.
• Production of this product in Iran is economical.
• European countries are fans of this product and it has a good market in Europe.

• Due to the economic justification for its production and purchase of machinery can be borrowed from Iranian banks.
Appearance:
• Rock paper, like paper, comes out of the factory in the form of a roll of paper or a 70 x 70 band.
• Its color is white and pale cream, the whiteness of which depends entirely on the type of raw material of the stone powder used.
It has a diameter of 80 to 500 microns and a specific gravity of 0.8 to 1.2.

• Roll paper can be cut with ordinary paper cutting machines to desired dimensions.
