Iran gas swap rose 358% in 2022.
Managing Director of Iran National Gas Company: Based on the set targets and according to the 2025 vision document, the international natural gas trade is expected to increase by 8-10%, which has been a successful performance in this area last year.
 

In this regard, Majid Chegani said: Natural gas exports in 2022 increased by 10% in volume and 79% in value compared to 2021.
He continued: Also, last year, compared to 2021, the amount of gas traded grew by 358% in terms of volume and 530% in terms of revenue.
The Deputy Minister of Oil and Gas Affairs said that Iran's National Gas Company has succeeded in restoring the flow of gas from Turkmenistan to the country in 2022 by importing natural gas from Turkmenistan through a swap agreement with the company. Azerbaijani Sokar, while promoting gas trade with this country, said: This amount of natural gas is traded from Turkmenistan to the Republic of Azerbaijan (and Nakhchivan).
Chegani also referred to the significant achievements of the gas industry in the export of natural gas by-products and explained: 2022 will see significant growth in liquefied gas (LPG) exports of 32% in terms of volume and 57 % in terms of value compared to the previous year.
He considered the payment of a large part of the claims of the Turkmengas company in 2022 as another achievement of this company and added: With the payment of a large part of the claims of the Turkmengas company, the bases for the promotion of the trade in natural gas from Turkmenistan were provided.
In the end, the CEO of the Iranian National Gas Company said: It is expected that the amount of gas imported from Turkmenistan will increase by more than 70% in 2023 compared to 2022 with the Sokar gas swap contract.
