If that hasn't worked, we have a problem either in foreign policy theory or in the function and operations of diplomacy. He also pointed out the misconception of some of the concept of "heroic gentleness" a few years ago: expediency means finding a way around difficult obstacles and continuing on the path to reach the goal.
 

The Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution, during a meeting with the officials of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the ambassadors of the Islamic Republic of Iran, explained the criteria and indicators of a successful foreign policy, "the honor "means denying and avoiding diplomatic begging, "wisdom" means wise and calculated interactions and activities, and they called "interest" meaning flexibility to circumvent difficult obstacles and continue the path as the three basic keywords of the country's diplomacy , and the country's diplomacy officials to continuously monitor the gradual progress of influential developments and events in the international order in order to achieve the rightful position of dear Iran in the future order. They called on the world.
Hazrat Ayatollah Khamenei considered a good foreign policy and an effective diplomatic system a fundamental pillar for the successful administration of the country, and setting out six mandatory rules in foreign policy, he said: Observance of these indicators is a sign of a foreign policy successful, and if these rules are not respected, or in theory We have a problem of foreign policy or diplomacy.
- The ability to convincingly explain the logic of the country's approaches to various issues was the first rule of successful foreign policy, as the leader of the Islamic Revolution said.
- "Effective and directional presence in various phenomena, events and politico-economic currents of the world"

- "Strengthen governments and groups united and in solidarity with Iran and develop the country's strategic depth" and

Ayatollah Khamenei also clarified the meaning of the three key words "honour, wisdom and opportunity" in the category of foreign policy, saying "honor", negation of "begging diplomacy both in words and in content" and avoiding paying attention to the words and decisions of country officials is another
He said that not relying on principle in foreign policy is dishonorable and causes hesitation and added: "In all world problems, we act honorably and we rely on principle in our words and actions. actions and in the face of the actions of others".
   The leader of the revolution enumerated the true meaning of "wisdom" as "wise, thoughtful and calculated" behavior and speech and said: "Every movement of foreign policy must be rational and thoughtful, and decisions and actions thoughtless and irresponsible things have hit the country at times.
He listed lack of trust in other parties as another concept of “wisdom” and said: Of course, not every word in the world of politics should be taken as a lie; Because there are honest and acceptable words, but not all words are trustworthy.
"Advantage" in the sense of having the flexibility in the cases necessary to bypass hard and rocky obstacles and continue the path, was another important keyword that the leaders explained.
They said: The upholding of principles is not in conflict with expediency in the sense mentioned.
Of course, a few years ago when the concept of "heroic tenderness" was proposed, outsiders and some insiders misunderstood it; Because opportunism means finding a way to overcome difficult obstacles and continue on the path to achieve the goal.
Hazrat Ayatollah Khamenei, in the continuation of his speech before the gathering of Foreign Ministry officials and ambassadors of our country, described the personal initiatives as "good, timely and well thought out", especially in the interactions of the ambassadors , important and necessary .
The issue of "the quality and quantity of personnel in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the recruitment of effective and reliable elements" was another point that the leader of the revolution underlined and declared: the Ministry of Foreign Affairs should recruit forces deep and deep in the intellectual foundations and They should believe in the political revolution and the Islamic Republic, and with sufficient motivation and strong will and mobility and activity, they should stand tall and not bend before the intellectual and propaganda storms strangers.
Ayatollah Khamenei, expressing his satisfaction with the Foreign Ministry's program to attract young troops, stressed: Taking care of the motivation, faith and will of the troops is an important task of the Foreign Ministry. .
Summing up this part of his speech, the Revolutionary Leader referred to Iran's representatives abroad as representatives of the people and their behavior reflects the identity and nature of the Iranian nation and said: Iranian diplomats should be a symbol of faith, love for dear Iran, zeal, determination and determination. They should be dynamic and hardworking, and their speech and behavior should be respectful of the Iranian nation.
In another part of his speech, Ayatollah Khamenei, referring to Iran's long borders with many sometimes important and influential countries, described the current government's policy on relations with its neighbors as very important and correct. and added: foreign hands to create problems between Iran and its neighbors It is active that you do not let this policy be carried out.
He considered important the policy of relations with Islamic countries, even distant ones, as well as the policy of relations with countries of the same direction, and added: Today, the cooperation and alignment of some large and important countries of the world with the Islamic Republic of Iran in certain currents and basic lines of international politics is an unprecedented phenomenon. We should appreciate this opportunity and strengthen our relations with these countries.
The Leader of the Revolution, referring to the question of the meeting of ambassadors regarding the change of the current world order and the frequent occurrence of this problem in world literature, said: the change of the world order is a long-term process full of ups and downs and affected by possible unforeseen events, and the opinions of different countries and they have different approaches to this.
He considered it necessary to monitor and assess global developments and know the exact side and behind the scenes of events to properly position Iran in the new order and said: Based on this monitoring and assessment, practical suggestions should be extracted, which in this case field, fellow ambassadors and heads of delegations, in particular They play an important role in the affected countries.
At the end, Ayatollah Khamenei once again stressed the importance of foreign policy and its important role in the administration and betterment of the country, and added: despite the attention paid to economic and cultural factors in the analysis of the country's current situation, the foreign policy factor is often overlooked in discussions; While a good and successful foreign policy will certainly improve the state of the country, on the other hand, disturbances and problems in the foreign policy will cause problems in the general state of the country, of which there have been many examples.
At the beginning of this meeting, the Minister of Foreign Affairs reported on the actions, plans and priorities of the foreign policy apparatus of the 13th government to bring about transformation.
Mr. Amir Abdollahian, withdrawing from the unilateral policy of the JCPOA with the aim of creating a balance in foreign policy, favoring economic diplomacy, focusing on it on the development of non-oil exports and a unique transit capacity in the country, looking specifically at Asia with a priority for neighbors and Islamic countries, supporting the Resistance Axis called active activism by participating in beneficial regional alliances such as the Eurasian Economic Union, Shanghai and the BRICS and simultaneously advancing the strategy of "neutralization of sanctions" and negotiation to "remove sanctions" among the most important strategies of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in the 13th government.
Referring to the President's 11 foreign trips and the 14 trips by heads of other countries to Iran over the past 20 months, the Foreign Minister also mentioned the signing of comprehensive and long-term Memoranda of Understanding. With countries such as China, Russia and Turkey among the measures taken to increase the interactions of the Islamic Republic of Iran and to increase the trade exchanges of the country.
Referring to the presence of more than 5 million Iranians abroad, Mr. Amir Abdollahian considered the special attention of the 13th government to provide services to this category of compatriots as another measure of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
