Opening of the southern gate and the 3 MW solar power plant in the Sirjan Special Economic Zone

The opening and commissioning ceremony of the southern gate of the Sirjan Special Economic Zone and the three-megawatt rooftop solar photovoltaic power plant took place in the presence of a group of provincial and municipal officials, regional directors and activists from the electricity sector.

According to the Sirjan Special Economic Zone Public Relations Department, the ceremony began with a special meeting in the Sirjan Special Economic Zone Conference Hall, attended by Dr. Hossein Amiri, CEO of the Kerman Civil Engineering Organization; Engineer Razavi, Governor of Sirjan; Engineer Bahrami, Mayor of Sirjan; Hojjatoleslam Walmoslemin Heydari, Temporary Imam of Sirjan; Engineer Hamid Shahsavari, CEO of the Sirjan Special Economic Zone; members of the Board of Directors; zone managers; a group of managers from the city’s executive agencies; and officials from the Kerman province’s power industry.

At the opening of the meeting, Dr. Hossein Amiri, Director General of the Kerman Civil Engineering Organization, welcomed the participants and presented a report on infrastructure development in the Sirjan Special Economic Zone. Discussing the implementation of projects such as the dry port and the logistics center, he emphasized that these projects were part of strategic plans aimed at strengthening the region’s position in the areas of transport, trade, and investment.

Furthermore, Dr. Hassan Asadi, Deputy Director of the Sirjan Special Economic Zone, explained the details of the southern gateway project for the region and stated: The implementation of this project was carried out with the cooperation and support of the Sirjan Municipality and will play an important role in facilitating access for residents of the residential part of the region and patients and visitors of Hazrat Fatima Al-Zahra Hospital (PSL).

He added: “Before this route was established, traffic flowed via the Sirjan-Tehran road, which, in addition to increasing the distance, created greater risks for traffic. The opening of this new route will help improve road safety while reducing travel time.”

In another part of the meeting, engineer Takafli, CEO of Kianero, presented a report on the implementation process of the three-megawatt rooftop solar photovoltaic power plant and stated: “This project was completed by constructing 18,000 square meters of structure and roofing and is considered one of the largest rooftop solar photovoltaic power plants in the country.”

He also announced the start of operations for another two-megawatt solar power plant in the near future.

Engineer Karimi, CEO of Behdad Electronics and head of the solar power plant project, also explained in his speech the technical characteristics, implementation stages and capabilities of this project, and cited the development of clean electricity production and the increase in energy efficiency as the most important objectives of its implementation.

At the conclusion of the ceremony, the Governor of Sirjan and the Acting Friday Imam of Sirjan also assessed the development of infrastructure in the special economic zone as an effective measure to strengthen the city’s production, investment, employment and sustainable development capacities, and stressed the continued implementation of infrastructure projects and the use of renewable energy.

Finally, after visiting the project implementation site, the participants officially inaugurated and commissioned the southern gate of the Sirjan Special Economic Zone and the three-megawatt solar photovoltaic power plant installed on the roof.

The inauguration of these two projects represents an important step in the development of transport and energy infrastructure in the Sirjan Special Economic Zone and reflects the region’s commitment to improving services to economic actors, increasing productivity, promoting sustainable development and moving towards the use of clean energy.

Appreciation from Sirjan Municipality

At the end of the ceremony and before the end of the program, Engineer Hamid Shahsavari, CEO of the Sirjan Special Economic Zone, presented a plaque of recognition to Engineer Bahrami, Mayor of Sirjan, and praised the sincere cooperation, constructive interaction and effective role of the Sirjan Municipality in the implementation of the project to open the southern gate of the special economic zone.

This plaque was awarded in recognition of the support and participation of the Sirjan municipality in the implementation of this development project and in facilitating access to the Sirjan special economic zone.
