The Deputy Minister of Economic Policy and Finance announced the upcoming publication—scheduled for next week—of a decree regarding the implementation of the “single window for freight transport,” stating: “Thanks to the implementation of this plan, import and export trucks will no longer be forced to wait in long lines at the borders, and customs formalities will be handled at the national customs level.”

According to the Irna news agency, Minister of Economy Morteza Zamanian stated on Sunday, regarding new government initiatives to facilitate trade and reduce cargo storage times: “The resolution concerning the implementation of the ‘single window’ for freight transport will be announced next week

He added: “Thanks to this plan, export and import trucks will no longer be stuck in long queues at the borders, and customs procedures for goods will be carried out at the national customs level.”

Zamanian stated that the implementation of this mechanism could help accelerate the goods transport process and reduce the time the fleet spends at borders, adding: “The aim of this measure is to facilitate trade and reduce obstacles arising in the process of importing and exporting goods.

The Deputy Minister of Economy responsible for economic policy also announced the reduction of unnecessary restrictions on importers’ access to foreign currency as part of the new policies, stating: “This approach is being pursued with the aim of increasing flexibility and speed in the supply of goods.”

He emphasized: “Given the country’s specific situation, foreign trade mechanisms must be adapted so that the production and supply cycle for basic goods can continue with greater speed and flexibility.”
